Located at 4490 W Point Loma Blvd, San Diego, CA 92107, Barnes Tennis Center operates as a tennis court serving San Diego in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Tennis in the United States is played on three kinds of places: public park courts run by a city or county, member clubs and country clubs with their own pros and leagues, and commercial tennis centers that sell court time by the hour. Public courts are usually free and first come, first served, with a posted limit (often 60-90 minutes when others are waiting); busier cities run online reservation systems with a small fee and a permit for the season. Indoor courts are rented by the hour and booked days ahead in winter. Most facilities are hard courts; clay is common in the Southeast and at private clubs, and grass is rare. Lights extend play into the evening at many parks, sometimes with a coin or app-operated switch.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 7 amβ10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (619) 221-9000. San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Diego is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Incredible tennis facility. We visited from out of state for a USTA Tri-Lavel Match. The center was incredible. 25 Tennis Courts, 16 Pickleball Courts. The facility is clean, well maintained and plenty of space to hold a large tournament and keep things moving. There was space to watch matches and have large crowds gather to watch the ever growing intense matches. There was plenty of parking, handicap parking upfront and a large overflow parking lot right behind the main parking lot. Overall a great facility, I was impressed as a spectator and those playing seemed pretty impressed as well.

Great club for tennis, pΓ‘del and pickleball! A lot of courts and a friendly staff, fair prices and a lot of options for clases or matches. They are on playtomic and booking is fair prices although when cold the glasses tend to get too wet and also the courts slippery. Great for day play tho. They have a pro shop and a lot of free parking. Well managed and great coaches although I would push more for a community chat and organized play for padel

The staff are not trying their best. The people who use the facility are neglecting and abusing the privilege of a easement between two businesses and causing conflict of the people that use the sidewalk by not stopping. The vehicle are not using it properly or stopping when someone crosses the roadway from the tennis courts. A few of us have almost been hit I have video I can't send it on this sight I have over 500 videos showing how each person doesn't stop and when confronted they say nothing will happen about this. When I email one of board members I get no response. I'm think of taking the matter to court because I can, just by a license plate number will be good enough to get this matters resolved. Not a single person wants to take responsibility. All I want is for them to stop running the stop sign.

Drop in play is $7 and worth every penny. Not only do they have a ton of well taken care of courts but they provide water and shade. The BEST part? Dylan who matches players with correct courts and manages play. Donβt think Iβve visited better run courts than these. The players are fun too and super welcoming.

Great venue for tennis, very close to Sea World in San Diego. Well maintained hard courts, around 20 of them, along with a few clay courts and lots of pickleball courts. Social play and tournament play here. Well stocked pro shop. Snack bar as well. Large paved parking lot and a nice gravel overflow lot. The parking lot does get nearly full during big tournaments, but you will probably find a spot. Really a very nice tennis facility.
